7:10 (35 min.): Topics, Updates, and Announcements

– We will review this land use notice for 2401 SE 76th Ave. (LU 22-204387 RP).

– Powell-Division Safety Improvements Project – As requested at our July board meeting, TriMet has been updating us on the milestones for the crossings project. I haven’t yet received an update for February, but will revise this when I do:

  • NTP for design contract [May 2017]
  • Design contract extended (new staff, rate review) [July 2022]
  • Environmental Site Assessments for two sites completed [Oct. 2022]
  • Developing revised drawing set [underway]
  • Exploring pre-purchasing the Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon (RRFB) equipment
  • Review of revised plan set [Fall 2022] (1/17/23 update: This is ongoing. Submitted to the Bureau of Development Service the first week of October. They will be reviewed by PBOT next week. Should receive all city initial comments as a package soon. ODOT provided first comments before Thanksgiving. Consultants are wrapping up answering questions and modifying plan sheets. Round 2 will be scheduled soon. TriMet procurement is advancing contracting possibilities and consulting with the FTA and should have an update about that next time.)
  • Final plans review [January 2023]
  • Construction contract out for bids [February 2023]
  • Notice to Proceed (NTP) for construction contract [late March 2023]
  • Potential start date and construction duration at SE 79th. Contractor will determine schedule, TriMet will ask to prioritize. [Summer 2023]

– Mt. Tabor Maintenance Yard project updates. The webpage was last updated December 2022.

– February updates from the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability and ways to engage on citywide projects.

– City Council votes unanimously to require new residential and mixed-use buildings to be electrical-vehicle ready.
